This blog seems to be turning into a biannual newsletter. Let me summarize what’s been going on since my last post.
In September, Lindsey came to Austin to celebrate her birthday. Unbeknownst to her, Michael and Ted arrived secretly a couple hours before her. We all surprised her at the airport - it was probably the [...]

So it’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been busy. We managed to get our apartment unpacked (with the help of Michael and Jody). We love the place we live. Our unit is huge (~1250 sq. feet) and our patio is ~30 feet from one of our complex’s pools. [...]

Laurie and I made it to Austin. Our apartment is humongous, and it’s in a really nice area. Michael and Jody came along to help us unload and unpack. They’ll be flying back to Jackson at the end of the week. I’ll post pictures as soon as we get everything unpacked.

I graduated, but I didn’t walk in the ceremony. I now have a M.S. in Computer Engineering. I’ve tried getting all my friends to call me “Master Holland,” but no dice.
Laurie and I are moving next week to Austin, where we’ve found a really nice two bedroom apartment in a gated apartment complex. [...]

Grades are in; I made all A’s again.
The biggest news is that I got a job offer from Lockheed Martin in Boulder, Colorado. It’s a great offer and I love the location, so I’ve accepted contingent upon Laurie getting into University of Colorado (which she almost certainly will).
I’ve been working on my thesis since [...]

Since I missed a few posts this semester, I’ll recap. This semester, I took Artificial Intelligence, Embedded Systems, and VLSI Systems. In Artificial Intelligence, we covered a variety of topics and had several programming projects.
In Embedded Systems, each person was placed in a team of three for the course of the semester. [...]

Laurie and I were married on August 4th. The bachelor party the night before was pretty tame (we mostly played Magic the Gathering and made a twinkie cake). Me and Ted and my dad and Dirtbag won the wedding golf tournament. Laurie and I went on our honeymoon in Zihuatanejo (slide show [...]

My modern processor design class is over. At the conclusion of the class, I had to propose a revolutionary technique for modern processor design as a final project. I proposed a low power branch prediction technique I dubbed “Selective Predictor Fusion.” Read about it here.
Not too long until the wedding.
